JET Charge make EV charging more affordable to help drive the transition

As part of their commitment to make EV ownership more accessible to more Australians, JET Charge has partnered with Autel to stock their cost-effective AC Lite home charger.

"At JET Charge, we believe EVs are for everyone," said JET Charge CEO Tim Washington. "This partnership with Autel will help more Australians than ever access and install budget-friendly charging options in their own homes."

JET Charge wants to remove the concern over cost of living in the inflation-impacted economy. “The AC Lite home charger can save drivers $83 per recharge vs a tank of fuel,” says Washington. He says that if a driver were to install an Autel 7.4KW system, removing dependence on more expensive public charging options, they would balance the investment in 12 months.

“It might take about 21 tanks of petrol – or 10,000 kms of driving – but EV charging makes financial sense after the first year of motoring," explains Tim. “And then integration with home solar systems is the cherry on the cake for full efficiency gains and savings maximisation.”

In the face of rising petrol costs and with EV price points dropping as more players enter the local market, data shows that Australians outside of urban centres are increasingly turning to EVs to save money on their longer commutes. This is backed-up by a Mycar report that found 32% of consumers looking to buy a new car consider potential fuel and maintenance savings a major factor in their decision making.

There was a time when home charging would set drivers back two or three thousand dollars for the hardware alone, but increasingly owning an EV makes sense for the planet and the hip pocket.

“As the technology, manufacturing accuracy and understanding about AC chargers has improved, you can buy a globally recognised and trusted brand like Autel, with plenty of residential product benefits from the AC Lite model, for just $799,” says Tim.

6.1% of all new car sales in August 2024 were EVs. While hybrids remain the more popular option due to concerns over public charging infrastructure, budget-friendly and reliable at-home charging solutions like the AC Lite model mean the savings benefits and security of owning, running and servicing an EV far outweigh the hybrid options.

“You’ll be charging your vehicle for around $12 in electricity instead of $95 plus for a full tank of petrol or diesel,” Tim explains. “The numbers simply add up.”

The Autel AC Lite comes with a 4-year warranty, offering peace of mind and assurance of quality. JET Charge also stocks spare parts and offers maintenance services to keep your charger in perfect working condition.

Australia has all the makings of a clean energy, low-carbon powerhouse, and JET Charge want to realise that potential by breaking down the barriers to charging. The Autel Lite is one step in the path to achieving this. JET Charge
