General Tire Introduces Two All-terrain Tyres to the Australian Market

General Tire, a Continental Tyres brand offering specially designed 4x4 tyres, has today announced the introduction of the GRABBER ATX and GRABBER AT3 tyres to the Australian market.

The two all-terrain patterns provide Australian drivers access to any adventure, offering exceptional off-road capability and durability, balanced with impressive on-road performance.

GRABBER ATX and GRABBER AT3 feature design elements that allow for unprecedented performance, increased mileage, and safety.

Comfort Balance Technology provides a more comfortable, quiet ride on the roads thanks to a tread cushioning system with an acoustic tread pattern. While the robust design and materials of General Tire’s signature DuraGen Technology provide long, even wear with excellent cut and chip resistance, and traction notches offer additional grip in dirt, snow, and all loose surfaces.

The tread has been developed to include a sturdy compound with reinforced blocks, ensuring increased mileage in rugged conditions. Moreover, it delivers confident stability under all approved load guidelines thanks to ultra-high-strength steel belts, whilst the open tread shoulder ensures efficient self-cleaning action for added traction in mud.

Mitchell Golledge, Head of East Region Asia Pacific for Continental Tyres and General Tire said the GRABBER ATX and GRABBER AT3 are designed for all-terrain enthusiasts who demand off-road capability balanced with on-road performance.

“The design of these tyres provides Aussie drivers with the confidence they need when tackling the vast array of unpredictable conditions our landscape presents,” says Golledge.

Both patterns have a range of sidewall features including large sidewall lugs on the upper sidewall protecting the tyre body from stones, rocks, and debris. A series of stacked deflection ribs provide protection to the upper sidewall area by deflecting obstacles away from the tyre body. While the rim protection rib shields the tyre and wheel bead area from damage caused by curb stones and off-road obstacles.

The ATX is available in 13 sizes ranging from LT235/85R16” to LT275/65R20” and the AT3 is available in 9 sizes ranging from LT225/75R16” to LT265/65R18” and can now be purchased at many Australian tyre retailers.
